Does anyone have a good homemade tomato soup recipe? Whenever I've tried to make it, it always has a bitter undertone, and I hate to add gobs of sugar. I'm hopeful we'll have a good tomato crop this year, & I want to be prepared!

SPICY TOMAOTO SOUP
1 small onion, chopped
1 Tbls. butter
2 tsp. dill weed
1 tsp. pepper
1/4 cup honey
2 - 28oz. cans tomatoes, crushed
2 Tbls. lowfat mayonnaise
chopped green onion for garnish
Saute onion in butter. Add remaining ingredients & simmer 45 minutes. Five minutes before serving, wisk in mayo. Garnish w/chopped tomatoes & green onion, if desired.
